Working my way through all of the posts I have missed....

I got the skirt and shirt combo in October from AGP. It also have the smells on the black skirt. I have aired it out and it helped a whole heck of alot. Since I am so far from AGP there is no way I want to send it back.

I was smelling the skirts at AGP!!!! the employees were giving me funy looks. But I was happy when I found on that did not smell at all!

But now that Kim says, will make sure Kirsten wears some long undies just in case the skirt leave any black spots. Want to put it on her after her Holiday outfit!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It doesn't leave marks or it shouldn't anyway. I've never had a problem with it but I have a pre-Mattel one that never smelled funky

Well, here is my (somewhat) resolution to this problem. I did call AG and they sent a new outfit, but it smelled too!! Not as much as the first one did when I opened it, but way too bad to use. So I began "the Treatment." I put crumpled newspaper all in and around it and put it in a box. Well, after two weeks of both skirts being treated this way, the first skirt smells quite a bit better. The second skirt still stinks!

I am very nervous about wrapping it up, because when I opened up the box with just the top in it, it had a bad smell, too! So I think if it's airing out, it gets a bit better, but closed up, it's way worse. I'm still pretty disappointed with this, because besides Nellie, this outfit is my dd's 2nd main Xmas present (along with all the outfit's accessories that I have been saving for years...lol!)...the carpetbag, snowshoes, flannel undergarments, knit woolens, red shoes...no winter amusements, unfortunately. So if it still bothers us after Christmas, I will call "again." I am so glad to see they are on backorder. Maybe they will get a new non-smelly shipment.

No, I've never used it. How does it work? Does it really get the smell out or does it just put another smell in? Dd and I are sort of sensitive to smells and try to avoid heavy perfumes and such, so that's why I'm asking.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I will look for some.

Wool isn't the only thing the little moths will go after. I was at the farm last weekend when I noticed a white, fuzzy path on my suede barn jacket. I picked part of it off, only to find a little worm beneath. I almost wanted to scream!

I'll be keeping my AG clothes seperate and out of the closets in plastic containers.

If anyone in your house has fragrance allergies *do not use* Fabreze.

Try Nature's Miracle or Oxyclean -- you can get the former from PetSmart and Oxyclean is in most grocery stores' laundry aisle. Both are very good for removing odors, without doing a number on your allergies.

Thanks so much, Lori. I'll try those. I need to go to PetSmart this week to get dd's fish a snail for Christmas (his tank has algae on it that needs to be eaten by a snail ) and I'll get some then. I've never tried washing any of the AG clothes, but I guess I have nothing to lose with the extra (smelliest) skirt.
